i hope you had fun!! sorry i haven't gotten back to you on picture info, i've been SUPER slammed, but i still have a reminder post-it, so i will try to get to it really really soon :)
also towards the bottom of the page. the seventies one is my favorite :)
Pioneer woman's blog has lots of awesome photo tips too, so just check out her site :)
for ones you have to pay for, but are still AWESOME, check out: totallyradactions.com.
you can actually get a FREE sample of actions from TotallyRad(from the "Sample" option on that page), they will email them to you, then you just download them and when you click them, they will just open up and appear in your photoshop. luckily, my favorite one came in the free sample! it's Boutwells' Magic Glasses. so fun!
anywho, if you google "free photoshop action downloads" you can find all sorts of fun stuff as well.
as far as the way i like to edit, i generally like to keep as much color in the photo as possible, i don't like to mute the colors hardly ever if i can avoid it, unless i'm doing black and white. but that's generally a rule for me if they're pictures for clients. if they are my own photos for me, i do whatever i want! :)
i avoid using flash, almost always, unless i'm in a really dark room or reception hall (like at a wedding), but then i try to change the pictures to black and white. i'm still working on getting a hand held flash so i can use it without pointing it directly at the subjects in the picture and just bounce the light off of a wall or something.
i also have been shooting in RAW format lately, which i really like, although it takes up WAY more memory on my memory card than if i shoot in normal JPEG mode.
also, adobe lightroom is AWESOME! i upload my RAW files into lightroom, and it makes a lot of color corrections for me right off the bat, then i can adjust other things (exposure, contrast, etc) super easy, then i move them to photoshop to finish editing. i really like it!
well, that's all i can think of right now! let me know if you have more questions, and i'm sorry i didnt' get back to you sooner :(
I'm a Londoner, obsessed with London, New York and all things beautiful... I enjoy when something unusual catches my eye... I like to people watch... I collect old postcards, heart shaped things and memories... and I love the tree in front of my house as it changes with the seasons.
